Allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (AdMSCs) are a cell-based advanced therapy medicinal product (ATMP) developed by Toulouse University Hospital (CHU Toulouse) in collaboration with the CDMO Cell-Easy. This therapy is specifically designed for the treatment of mouth fibrosis and functional impairment (microstomia) in patients with systemic sclerosis (systemic scleroderma). The treatment involves perioral injections of cultured AdMSCs, which are manufactured using Cell-Easy's GMP-compliant CellReady® platform. These cells are intended to reduce fibrosis and improve oral function through immunomodulatory and anti-fibrotic mechanisms, providing a potential therapeutic option where no alternative validated therapies currently exist.
