Allogeneic bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells are multipotent stromal cells isolated from the bone marrow of healthy donors, capable of differentiating into various cell types, including bone, cartilage, muscle, and fat. These cells are used in regenerative medicine and cell therapy due to their immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and trophic effects[7][9]. Allogeneic BM-MSCs are studied and applied in diseases such as steroid-refractory acute graft versus host disease (SR-aGvHD), chronic low back pain, lumbar facet joint arthropathy, and Alzheimer's disease[1][2][4][6][8]. Their mechanism involves homing to sites of injury and modulating immune responses, secreting paracrine factors that promote tissue repair, suppress inflammation, and support regeneration. Unlike autologous stem cells, allogeneic BM-MSCs are provided by donors and generally pose a risk of immune rejection, though they can be highly accessible and allow for standardized manufacturing protocols[3][7]. BM-MSC products are currently in clinical trials and in limited clinical use in some regions.
