Overview

allogeneic CART-19 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by The Affiliated Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences. This therapy utilizes T cells derived from healthy donors (allogeneic) that are genetically engineered to express a CAR targeting the CD19 antigen, a protein highly expressed on the surface of B-cell malignancies. Unlike autologous CAR-T therapies, which require the use of a patient's own cells, this allogeneic approach aims to provide an "off-the-shelf" treatment option, potentially reducing manufacturing time and increasing accessibility for patients with aggressive disease. The therapy is primarily being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of elderly patients (aged 60 and older) with relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL).
