Overview

allogeneic CART-33 is an investigational allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD33 surface antigen, which is highly expressed on myeloid leukemia cells. Developed by The Affiliated Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences, this therapy utilizes T-cells derived from healthy donors (allogeneic) rather than the patient's own cells (autologous). The T-cells are genetically engineered to express a CAR that recognizes and binds to CD33, leading to the targeted destruction of CD33-positive leukemic blasts. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
