Overview

Allogeneic CD19 CAR-gamma delta T cells represent an innovative cell therapy approach where gamma-delta (γδ) T cells, sourced from healthy donors, are genetically engineered to express a Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) specifically targeting the CD19 antigen. CD19 is a protein commonly found on the surface of B-cell malignancies. This engineering enables the T cells to recognize and eliminate CD19-expressing tumor cells in an MHC-independent manner, which significantly reduces the risk of Graft-versus-Host Disease (GvHD) often associated with allogeneic cell therapies. This 'off-the-shelf' characteristic addresses critical limitations of autologous CAR-T therapies, such as the lengthy and patient-specific manufacturing processes. Gamma-delta T cells are a unique subset of T lymphocytes known for their inherent anti-tumor properties and their ability to bridge innate and adaptive immunity.
