Overview

Allogeneic CD19 CAR-T cell therapy is an investigational "off-the-shelf" cellular immunotherapy developed by Shenzhen University General Hospital for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL). The therapy utilizes T cells from healthy donors that are genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting the CD19 antigen, a protein consistently expressed on the surface of B-cell malignancies. This allogeneic approach is designed to overcome the logistical and biological challenges of autologous CAR-T therapies, such as the lengthy manufacturing process and the potential for poor T-cell quality in heavily pretreated patients, by providing a readily available product with consistent potency.
