Allogeneic CD70-targeting CAR-T cells is an investigational cell therapy being developed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory CD70-positive brain gliomas. This therapy utilizes T cells derived from healthy adult donors (allogeneic) which are genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the CD70 antigen, a member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily frequently overexpressed in various malignancies, including high-grade gliomas. By targeting CD70, the CAR-T cells are designed to selectively identify and eliminate glioma cells. In clinical study, the cells are administered intrathecally to facilitate direct access to the central nervous system and overcome the limitations of the blood-brain barrier.
