The therapeutic approach involves the surgical implantation of the cultured cells into the site of injury, where they are intended to proliferate and synthesize a new hyaline-like cartilage matrix. This method aims to overcome the limitations of autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI), such as the need for a preliminary biopsy and the associated donor-site morbidity, by providing a standardized, readily available cell source for joint repair.
