This therapy is a personalized cancer vaccine composed of allogeneic dendritic cells (DCs) fused or combined with autologous (patient-derived) renal cell carcinoma (RCC) tumor-derived cells. The approach leverages the potent antigen-presenting capacity of healthy donor DCs to present patient-specific tumor antigens from their own RCC tissue. The resulting hybrid or fusion vaccine is designed to stimulate the patient's immune system to recognize and attack RCC tumors by presenting a broad array of relevant antigens in an immunogenic context. Clinical studies have evaluated this strategy in patients with metastatic RCC, showing feasibility and safety, with some evidence for immune activation and clinical responses such as partial response or disease stabilization[1][2][3]. This modality is under investigation primarily for advanced/metastatic renal cell carcinoma.
