Beroni Group's allogeneic gamma-delta T cell therapy is a donor-derived cellular immunotherapy currently in preclinical development for the treatment of various cancers and HIV. Unlike conventional alpha-beta T cells, gamma-delta T cells recognize and eliminate malignant or infected cells in a major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-independent manner, which significantly reduces the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) and facilitates the development of "off-the-shelf" products. These cells function at the interface of innate and adaptive immunity, utilizing their native T-cell receptors and natural killer-like receptors to identify stress-induced ligands on tumor cells. The program is a core component of Beroni Group's oncology pipeline, developed through research collaborations with institutions such as Nankai University and the University of New South Wales.
