Allogeneic Magicell-NK is an allogeneic natural killer (NK) cell-based immunotherapy developed by Medigen Biotechnology Corp. for the treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDA) and cholangiocarcinoma in post-surgical patients. The therapy consists of ex vivo expanded and activated NK cells with a phenotype of CD3-CD56+ NK cells (>95% purity) derived from peripheral blood. The mechanism of action involves allogeneic NK cell-based cytotoxicity through multiple innate immune mechanisms including perforin and granzyme release to induce apoptosis, cytokine secretion (TNF-α and IFN-γ), and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). It is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development (trial CT-ANK-21) as an adjuvant therapy combined with chemotherapy (SLOG regimen) in patients with stage II or III PDA or cholangiocarcinoma following surgical resection.
