Allogeneic multispecific antiviral T cells is an investigational adoptive cell therapy consisting of allogeneic CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes that have been ex vivo stimulated with synthetic peptides derived from the viral antigens of cytomegalovirus (CMV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and adenovirus (AdV). Developed by the Medical Center – University of Freiburg, the therapy is intended to restore virus-specific immunity in patients following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) who suffer from chemotherapy-refractory viral infections. The product is currently being evaluated in the Phase III TRACE multicenter clinical trial, building on earlier Phase I/IIa results from the MULTIVIR-01 study.
