Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Allogeneic stool suspension is an investigational biological preparation used for fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT). It consists of donor-derived fecal material suspended in a liquid medium for administration to recipients. The preparation is designed to reconstitute the gut microbiota by introducing a complex community of healthy donor microorganisms. It is primarily being studied in the AMIRA trial (NCT04095988) by the University of Ulm for the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D), aiming to restore microbial diversity and improve symptom severity and quality of life.
