This combination biologic therapy consists of allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells derived from the umbilical cord (UC-MSCs) and the secretome (a collection of paracrine factors, including exosomes, cytokines, and growth factors) derived from adipose tissue. UC-MSCs provide potent immunomodulatory and regenerative properties, while the adipose secretome provides a concentrated cocktail of growth factors and anti-inflammatory mediators to enhance the therapeutic microenvironment. This combination has been primarily investigated for conditions involving severe systemic inflammation and tissue damage, such as COVID-19-induced pneumonia and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), where it aims to suppress the cytokine storm and promote lung tissue repair.
