Allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells is an adoptive cell-based immunotherapy developed by Dr. Zhinan Yin and colleagues at Jinan University for the treatment of multidrug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis (MDR-TB). The therapy utilizes a specific subset of gamma delta T lymphocytes, Vγ9Vδ2 T cells, which are expanded from healthy donors using a proprietary formula. These cells function through an HLA-independent mechanism, allowing for allogeneic use without the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). In clinical studies, the therapy has demonstrated the ability to promote pulmonary lesion repair, enhance host immunity, and reduce the load of *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*. It is typically administered via intravenous infusion as a supplement to conventional anti-tuberculosis drug regimens.
