A combination bone grafting material consisting of a 1:1 ratio of allogenic bone graft (human donor bone) and xenograft (typically bovine-derived bone). This composite graft is utilized in guided bone regeneration (GBR) procedures to augment deficient maxillary alveolar ridges. The allogenic component provides an osteoconductive scaffold and potentially osteoinductive signals to recruit bone-forming cells, while the xenograft component offers structural stability and a slow resorption rate, maintaining the volume of the augmented site over time. This specific combination is being evaluated by Cairo University as an alternative to the gold-standard mixture of autogenous bone and xenograft for patients requiring dental implants in atrophied ridges.
