AlloWrap

AlloWrap is a human amniotic membrane allograft used as a surgical barrier to prevent the formation of adhesions following tendon repair or tenolysis. Manufactured by AlloSource and distributed by Stryker, it consists of processed human amniotic tissue that provides a protective covering for nerves and tendons. The product is available in a dual-layer format (AlloWrap DS) where the epithelial layer faces outwards on both sides to facilitate handling and placement. In clinical research led by Thomas Jefferson University, AlloWrap is being evaluated for its ability to reduce scarring and improve range of motion in patients undergoing surgery for tendon adhesions in the hand and wrist by serving as a physical barrier during the proliferation phase of healing.
