allspice aqueous extract

Allspice aqueous extract (AAE) is a preclinical-stage, plant-derived anti-cancer formulation prepared from the dried, unripe berries of *Pimenta dioica* (Allspice). Its key active ingredient is ericifolin (eugenol 5-O-β-galloylglucopyranoside), a polyphenolic compound. AAE has demonstrated anti-proliferative and anti-tumor activity against prostate cancer and breast cancer (including triple-negative breast cancer) in vitro and in vivo. Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of androgen receptor (AR) transcription, down-modulation of estrogen receptor alpha (ERα), and the inhibition of the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway, which induces cytotoxic autophagy. Developed primarily in academic research settings, such as the University of Miami, AAE remains a preclinical research tool with no approved clinical uses.
