Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ALM0118 is a small molecule angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor antagonist (ARB) currently under development by Alchemedicine. While most ARBs are formulated for oral administration in the chronic management of hypertension, ALM0118 is specifically designed as an injectable formulation for intravenous (IV) use. By blocking the AT1 receptor, the drug inhibits the vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, thereby lowering blood pressure. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development, potentially targeting clinical scenarios where rapid blood pressure control is required or oral intake is not feasible.
