Overview
ALM27134 is a first-in-class, fully human, high-affinity monoclonal antibody that targets the interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RAP). By antagonizing IL-1RAP, it blocks signaling of multiple proinflammatory cytokines in the IL-1 family. This mechanism is designed to simultaneously abrogate several disease drivers implicated in autoimmune and inflammatory dermatological diseases. The drug was originally developed by Ichnos Sciences and is now being advanced by Almirall for autoimmune dermatology indications. As of early 2025, ALM27134 has completed Phase I studies in healthy volunteers and is advancing toward Phase II trials for hidradenitis suppurativa[2][3][4][6].
