Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alminoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the phenylpropionic acid class, structurally related to ibuprofen but with an isobutyl group replaced by a (2-methylprop-2-en-1-yl)amino group. It is primarily used for the treatment of inflammatory and rheumatic disorders. Alminoprofen acts as an inhibitor of both cyclooxygenase 2 (COX‑2) and secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA₂), reducing inflammation and pain while minimizing gastrointestinal side effects compared to some other NSAIDs. Its mechanism involves selective inhibition of COX‑2, antiphospholipase A₂ activity, and general non-narcotic analgesic effects[1][3][6].
