A combination drug consisting of almitrine and dihydroergocristine. Almitrine is a respiratory stimulant that enhances respiration by acting as an agonist of peripheral chemoreceptors located on the carotid bodies. Dihydroergocristine is an ergot alkaloid with partial agonist activity on dopaminergic and alpha-adrenergic receptors and antagonist activity on serotonin receptors. This combination has been used for treating age-related cerebral disorders and cerebrovascular conditions.
