Combination of **almond oil** (typically derived from *Prunus dulcis*) and **vitamin E** is used primarily as a topical skin care product or dietary supplement. Almond oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, plant polyphenols, flavonoids, phytosterols, and high concentrations of tocopherols (mainly α-tocopherol, the most biologically active form of vitamin E). Vitamin E, a potent antioxidant, contributes to anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and antiangiogenic effects; it helps protect skin from oxidative stress, UV damage, and supports skin regeneration and moisturization. This combination is found in numerous OTC cosmetic products for skin whitening, anti-aging, hyperpigmentation, dark circles, and wound healing[2][4][5]. Mechanistically, both act via antioxidant and anti-inflammatory pathways; additionally, topical use may inhibit cyclo-oxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX), reduce angiogenesis, and enhance apoptosis (cell death) and anti-proliferation in cancer models[1]. Almond oil can also be ingested for cardiovascular benefits. Safety concerns exist if injected (oil granuloma/lipogranuloma)[3].
