ALN-ANG3 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic designed to lower blood lipid levels by targeting and inhibiting the production of angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3), a liver-derived protein that regulates plasma lipid and lipoprotein metabolism. By silencing ANGPTL3 mRNA in hepatocytes, ALN-ANG3 aims to reduce triglycerides and cholesterol levels in the blood. The drug is administered subcutaneously and is currently being evaluated for safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, and effects on lipid parameters in healthy volunteers. It is being developed collaboratively by Alnylam Pharmaceuticals and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals[1][2][4][7].
