Overview

ALN-F1202 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic targeting coagulation Factor XII (F12). It is designed to inhibit the expression of Factor XII by RNA interference, thereby reducing its protein levels in plasma. The drug acts as a Factor XII inhibitor and is being developed for parenteral administration. Its primary mechanism involves modulating Factor XII expression, which may have applications in conditions where inhibition of the contact activation pathway or bradykinin generation is beneficial, such as hereditary angioedema (HAE), though the current clinical trials are in healthy adults with unspecified indications. The developer and sponsor of ALN-F1202 is Regeneron Pharmaceuticals[2][5][7].
