Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ALN-FLU01** was an investigational RNA interference antiviral developed by Alnylam in collaboration with Novartis for treatment and prevention of pandemic influenza. It comprised two small interfering RNAs directed against distinct, highly conserved influenza-virus gene sequences, with the goal of sequence-specific viral gene silencing, inhibition of viral replication, broad strain coverage, and reduced risk of viral resistance. Preclinical activity included activity against human clinical H5N1 isolates; the program did not enter confirmed clinical development and is no longer an active Alnylam pipeline program.
