Overview

ALN-Immunomodulatory Agents is a preclinical-stage therapeutic program developed by Alnair Therapeutics using the proprietary Alnair Lactate-reactive Nanoparticle (ALN) platform. This technology utilizes mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) designed to selectively release therapeutic payloads in the lactate-rich tumor microenvironment (TME), thereby exploiting the Warburg effect. The nanoparticles are functionalized with a lactate-reactive cap consisting of the enzyme lactate oxidase and a peroxide-sensitive linker. Upon encountering high concentrations of lactate in the TME, the enzyme converts lactate into hydrogen peroxide, which triggers the degradation of the linker and the subsequent release of the immunomodulatory payload. This program is specifically being explored for applications in photodynamic therapy (misspelled as "Polydinamic therapy" on the developer's website) to modulate anti-tumor immunity and enhance therapeutic efficacy in niche oncology indications.
