Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alnitak is a preclinical drug discovery program developed by Aqilion AB, a Swedish biotechnology company, focused on the development of small molecule inhibitors of transforming growth factor-β-activated kinase 1 (TAK1). TAK1 is a master regulator of pro-inflammatory signaling pathways, including NF-κB and MAPK, and its dysregulation is implicated in various chronic inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, as well as certain genetically driven cancers. The Alnitak program utilizes structure-based drug discovery to identify potent, selective, and drug-like inhibitors intended to provide a best-in-class therapeutic profile for systemic treatment.
