Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alocross is an over‑the‑counter lubricating ophthalmic solution and gel based on cross‑linked hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, marketed as a CE‑marked medical device for the symptomatic treatment of dry eye disease, ocular discomfort, irritation, and redness caused by environmental or iatrogenic factors.[1][5][6][7][9][11] Cross‑linked hyaluronic acid provides high viscoelasticity, prolonged retention on the ocular surface, and enhanced hydration and lubrication, thereby relieving symptoms of dry eye and protecting the corneal and conjunctival epithelium.[1][5][6][8][11] Aloe vera contributes additional moisturizing, decongestant, and lubricating effects, improving wettability, comfort, and a feeling of ocular freshness, and is particularly useful for reddened or sensitive eyes and for ocular surface disorders induced by chronic topical therapies such as antiglaucoma drops.[1][6][8] Alocross is available in multidose bottles and single‑dose vials, and can be used with contact lenses and after ocular surgery for ongoing symptomatic relief.[1][3][6][7][9][11]
