Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ALOD-CZ is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing aceclofenac, paracetamol, and chlorzoxazone, developed and marketed by Alodia Life Sciences. It is indicated for the relief of severe pain, inflammation, and stiffness associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions, such as muscle spasms, sprains, strains, joint problems, and fever. Within this combination, aceclofenac acts as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes to reduce the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins. Paracetamol provides complementary analgesic and antipyretic effects by centrally inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Chlorzoxazone is a centrally-acting skeletal muscle relaxant that activates calcium-activated potassium channels, thereby depressing multisynaptic reflex arcs in the spinal cord and subcortical areas of the brain to alleviate muscle spasms and improve mobility.
