Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alod SP is a fixed-dose combination therapy developed by Alodia Life Sciences, containing the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) aceclofenac, the analgesic and antipyretic paracetamol (acetaminophen), and the proteolytic enzyme serratiopeptidase. It is indicated for the relief of pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with various conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders, sprains, strains, joint and muscle problems, post-operative inflammation, and fever. Within this combination, aceclofenac acts as a potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins. Paracetamol acts centrally to elevate the pain threshold and reduce fever. Serratiopeptidase, a proteolytic enzyme, degrades fibrin and other inflammatory proteins, helping to reduce edema and swelling at the site of injury or inflammation. Alod SP is approved and marketed as an oral tablet formulation.
