alogliptin + voglibose

Alogliptin + voglibose is a fixed-dose combination of two oral antidiabetic agents used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Alogliptin is a selective dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases incretin hormone activity, leading to enhanced insulin secretion and reduced glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner[3][8]. Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor that delays carbohydrate digestion and absorption in the intestine, thereby attenuating postprandial hyperglycemic excursions[4]. The combination works synergistically to increase active GLP-1 levels, enhance insulin secretion, decrease glucagon secretion, and improve glycemic control more effectively than either agent alone[6]. This combination is primarily indicated for type 2 diabetes mellitus.
