Overview

aLoOxMBMC is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy product consisting of ischemia-tolerant mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from human bone marrow. Developed by Altaco XXI, LLP, these cells are cultured under low-oxygen (hypoxic) conditions to enhance their survival and therapeutic potential within the ischemic environment of the heart. The therapy is administered as a single intravenous dose to patients following an acute myocardial infarction (AMI), including both ST-elevation (STEMI) and non-ST-elevation (NSTEMI) cases. The mechanism of action involves the cells' ability to secrete paracrine factors that stimulate angiogenesis, modulate the inflammatory response, and potentially facilitate the repair of damaged cardiac tissue, thereby improving cardiac function and preventing adverse ventricular remodeling.
