Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ALOTHIP-TH is a fixed-dose combination tablet marketed by Wellmed Pharma for the management of pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders. It contains three active ingredients: aceclofenac, paracetamol (acetaminophen), and thiocolchicoside. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes. Paracetamol serves as an analgesic and antipyretic agent, providing additional pain relief. Thiocolchicoside is a semi-synthetic muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory properties that acts as a selective GABAA receptor antagonist and glycine receptor agonist, effectively reducing muscle hypertonia. This multi-modal formulation is typically indicated for conditions such as low back pain, osteoarthritis, and acute muscle strains.
