Alpha fetoprotein adenoviral vector vaccine is an investigational cancer vaccine that uses a prime-boost strategy combining AFP DNA plasmids and an AFP-expressing adenoviral vector. It is designed to stimulate immune responses against alpha fetoprotein (AFP), an oncofetal antigen overexpressed by many hepatocellular cancers. The vaccine aims to activate both CD8+ and CD4+ T cells against AFP-expressing tumor cells, potentially preventing or delaying recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma after primary treatment.
