Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alpha-GEE is a sports nutrition anti-inflammatory active ingredient developed by ProMera Sports and associated with Vireo Systems for reduction of exercise-induced inflammation and delayed onset muscle soreness. It is described as a patented small-molecule compound, also characterized in promotional materials as a peptide-like amino acid conjugate, with ibuprofen-like anti-inflammatory effects but without reported cyclooxygenase inhibition typical of NSAIDs. The proposed mechanism includes reduction of prostaglandin E2 release and acceleration of lactic acid diffusion from muscle, and it has been used in recovery-oriented supplement products and discussed in patent literature for osteoarthritis-related use.
