Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Renolife Forte is a pharmaceutical formulation developed by Septalyst Lifesciences, primarily indicated for the management of chronic kidney disease (CKD). It consists of a combination of alpha-ketoanalogues and essential amino acids. The drug functions as a nitrogen scavenger; when ingested, the ketoanalogues undergo transamination by taking up nitrogen from non-essential amino acids (such as urea precursors) to form their corresponding essential amino acids. This process effectively reduces the production of urea and other nitrogenous waste products, thereby lowering the workload on the kidneys and delaying the progression of renal failure. It is typically prescribed in conjunction with a protein-restricted diet to maintain nutritional status while minimizing uremic symptoms.
