Drug intelligence / Profile preview
APRINOIA Therapeutics is developing a small molecule alpha-synuclein (α-syn) degrader using Proteolysis-Targeting Chimera (PROTAC) technology for the treatment of alpha-synucleinopathies, including Parkinson's disease, Multiple System Atrophy, and Lewy Body Dementia. The degrader is designed to selectively target and remove pathological α-synuclein aggregates by recruiting them to the ubiquitin-proteasome system via an E3-ligase ligand, while sparing native, non-pathological proteins. The program has received funding and development support from the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Lundbeck, and AbbVie and is currently in the preclinical discovery stage.
