Overview

The alpha-synuclein PET tracer is a preclinical-stage, small molecule diagnostic imaging agent being developed by APRINOIA Therapeutics. It is designed to selectively bind to pathological alpha-synuclein (α-Syn) aggregates in the brain, which are the hallmark of synucleinopathies. By enabling the visualization and quantification of these aggregates via positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, the tracer aims to provide a precise diagnostic tool for conditions such as Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy (MSA), and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). The program has received support from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and is part of APRINOIA's proprietary platform targeting aggregated protein structures to facilitate both early diagnosis and the monitoring of disease-modifying therapies.
