Alpha-type-1 Polarizing Dendritic Cells (aDC1) pulsed with HIV peptides is an autologous therapeutic vaccine being developed by the University of São Paulo General Hospital for the treatment of HIV infection. The therapy involves harvesting a patient's monocytes, differentiating them into alpha-type-1 polarizing dendritic cells in vitro, and pulsing them with HIV-specific antigens, including peptides from the Gag, Pol, and Nef proteins. These matured and activated antigen-presenting cells are designed to induce robust HIV-specific CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell immune responses, aiming to enhance viral control in individuals on antiretroviral therapy (ART), particularly during analytical treatment interruption (ATI).
