ALPL-VYGR-NeuroShuttle is a discovery-stage, non-viral delivery platform and gene therapy candidate being developed by Voyager Therapeutics. The platform utilizes a receptor-mediated shuttle system that targets the alkaline phosphatase (ALPL) receptor to facilitate the transport of therapeutic payloads across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) into the central nervous system (CNS). Preclinical murine studies have demonstrated that the ALPL-VYGR-NeuroShuttle can maintain CNS exposure for over three weeks, significantly outperforming traditional transferrin receptor-based shuttles. While the program is currently categorized as a gene therapy in the company's pipeline, the platform is designed to be modular, capable of delivering various modalities including antibodies.
