Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AlpN GBS vaccine (also known as GBS-NN/NN2) is a novel recombinant protein subunit vaccine developed by MinervaX for the prevention of Group B Streptococcus (GBS) infections. The vaccine is designed for maternal immunization to protect newborns via passive transfer of maternal IgG antibodies, as well as for the active immunization of older adults who are at increased risk of invasive GBS disease. Unlike traditional capsular polysaccharide conjugate vaccines, AlpN GBS is based on fusions of highly immunogenic N-terminal domains from the GBS Alpha-like protein (Alp) family, specifically Alpha C (AlpC), Rib, Alp1, and Alp2/3. This protein-only formulation is adjuvanted with aluminum hydroxide (Alhydrogel) and is designed to provide broad protection against virtually all circulating GBS strains.
