**Aluminum chlorohydrex propylene glycol** is an inorganic aluminum chlorohydrate-propylene glycol coordination complex used as a topical over-the-counter antiperspirant active ingredient. It is a distinct hydrated complex in which propylene glycol replaces some waters associated with aluminum chlorohydrate. In antiperspirant formulations, aluminum-containing species form a temporary superficial obstruction within eccrine sweat ducts, reducing the delivery of sweat to the skin surface. In the United States, it is an allowed active ingredient in OTC antiperspirant drug products at concentrations up to 25 percent, subject to the applicable monograph conditions.
