Overview

This is a combination of two agents—aluminum fluoride and indocyanine green. Indocyanine green (ICG) is a water-soluble, tricarbocyanine dye with strong near-infrared fluorescence properties. It is widely used in medical diagnostics for imaging blood flow, cardiac output measurement, liver function assessment, ophthalmic angiography (especially for choroidal neovascularization), lymphatic mapping in cancer surgery, and intraoperative visualization of tissue perfusion[2][5][6]. ICG binds to plasma proteins after intravenous injection and emits fluorescence when excited by near-infrared light[5][6]. Aluminum fluoride is an inorganic compound sometimes used as a tracer or radiolabeling agent in research settings but does not have established pharmaceutical use on its own. The specific combination of aluminum fluoride with ICG may be intended for enhanced imaging applications or as part of experimental theranostic formulations; however, there are no widely approved clinical products containing both agents together. The mechanism would likely involve the fluorescent imaging capabilities of ICG combined with any potential radiolabeling or contrast enhancement from aluminum fluoride.
