The approach aims to induce long-term immune tolerance more efficiently than standard sublingual or subcutaneous immunotherapy by delivering allergens directly into the lymph nodes. Vitamin D is hypothesized to act as an immunomodulatory adjuvant, potentially enhancing the induction of regulatory T cells (Tregs) and suppressing Th2-mediated allergic inflammation.
