ALVAC-HIV gp160MN (vCP125) is a recombinant canarypox virus-based vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of HIV infection. It expresses the HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein gp160 from the MN strain, aiming to induce both humoral and cellular immune responses against HIV. As a live, genetically engineered subunit vaccine, it is designed to prime the immune system by delivering HIV antigens via a non-replicating viral vector. Clinical studies have shown that vaccination with ALVAC-HIV gp160MN can elicit neutralizing antibodies and cell-mediated immunity in healthy volunteers. The vaccine has been evaluated alone and in combination with protein boosts such as rgp120 in early-phase clinical trials[1][5][6][7].
