Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AlvioLife is a proprietary, patented blend of standardized extracts from Boswellia serrata gum resin (standardized to 30% 3-O-acetyl-11-keto-ß-boswellic acid, AKBA) and Aegle marmelos (Bengal quince) dried fruit. Developed by PLT Health Solutions in partnership with Laila Nutraceuticals, it is designed to support respiratory health by improving lung function, lung capacity, and aerobic exercise capacity. Clinical studies have demonstrated that supplementation with AlvioLife can significantly improve asthma symptoms and emotional well-being in individuals with mild to moderate asthma as well as healthy subjects sensitive to air pollution. The mechanism of action involves potent inhibition of the enzyme 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX), which plays a key role in airway inflammation; this effect is stronger than either constituent alone due to their synergistic activity. Additional effects include modulation of immune biomarkers such as increased IFN-γ and reduced IL-4 levels, reduction in upper respiratory tract symptoms, improved psychological well-being scores, and enhanced immune system function[1][3][6][7][8].
