Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alvocade is a branded formulation of the proteasome inhibitor bortezomib, supplied as a lyophilized powder in vials for reconstitution and parenteral administration in oncology settings.[10] Bortezomib reversibly inhibits the 26S proteasome, disrupting targeted protein degradation, leading to accumulation of misfolded and regulatory proteins, induction of endoplasmic reticulum stress, and apoptosis, particularly in malignant plasma cells such as those in multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma.[3] Alvocade is indicated for the treatment of multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma and is developed and manufactured by Nanoalvand, a pharmaceutical company based in Iran.[10]
