ALVR107

ALVR107 (Viralym-J) is an investigational, off-the-shelf, allogeneic virus-specific T-cell (VST) therapy developed to target the JC virus (JCV), also known as human polyomavirus 2. JCV is the causative agent of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), a severe and often fatal demyelinating disease of the central nervous system that occurs in immunocompromised individuals. The therapy consists of T-lymphocytes derived from healthy, JCV-seropositive donors that have been expanded and sensitized to specific JCV antigens. By providing a population of functional, virus-specific T-cells, ALVR107 aims to restore cellular immunity and eliminate JCV-infected cells in patients who lack an adequate endogenous immune response, potentially halting the progression of PML.
