**ALVR108** is an allogeneic, off-the-shelf virus-specific T cell (VST) therapy developed by AlloVir (now Kalaris Therapeutics) to target human herpesvirus-8 (HHV-8)-associated diseases, including Kaposi sarcoma (KS), primary effusion lymphoma (PEL), and multicentric Castleman’s disease (MCD). It leverages AlloVir’s proprietary VST platform, which selectively expands polyclonal CD4+ helper and CD8+ cytotoxic T cells from healthy donors to restore virus-specific immunity in immunocompromised patients with T cell deficiencies. The therapy is designed for rapid, scalable production to address life-threatening viral infections where current treatments are limited by toxicity, resistance, or inefficacy.[1][2][5]
